The Power Of Contentment

Hey Y’all. Did you miss me? Yea I know. It’s been a long time and I’m sorry for my inexcusable break. I can’t even justify myself at this point.

This first four months has been tough for us all but I am glad that this is a global crisis and we are going through it together. I see different post flying around about how the year 2020 should be over and done with and 2021 should show forth; but in all honesty, I am not for that motion.

I am a big fan of “PHASES AND LESSONS”.

I want to believe that we all are familiar with the scripture Exodus 34:14

Because the LORD is jealous for his reputation, you are never to bow down to another god. He is a jealous God“.

God created us in his spittingimage and likeness. He breathed the breath of life into every human and for that, God’s desires are for us to serve him in spirit and in truth. God does not want our attention to be drawn from him and consumed with the the things of the flesh.

Want to Know how God acts when he’s Jealous? Read the book of Exodus 32:7-10

I am for the motion that God tries in the littlest ways he can to get our attention and when we don’t give him, his anger waxes hot towards us.

Some of us may ask, “We are his children, why would he want to hurt us?”

Proverbs 13:24 “He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes”.

In our spare time and closets, let’s try as much as possible, as much as we can to ask God for Mercy and that he should cause our face to seek him and know him.

OMG!!! I can’t believe this!! When I started writing this, I was completely clueless as to what I was writing. I haven’t even landed on my topic of the day!!!!! I can’t be more grateful.

On Today’s Episode of Koco’s Heaven, I’ll be painting an imagery on the Power Of Contentment. I am going to make this topic as short as possible.

The world we live in today is full of discontentment. We are not happy about the kind of house we live in, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the phones we use e.t.c

Many of us try to fill a void of some kind but at the end of the day, we keep gasping for more. We keep wanting more. We look to fill up or relationships with more but we end up being empty and depressed.

It isn’t bad to want more. It isn’t bad to be more. It isn’t wrong for us to desire to be comfortable but when we make this values rulers over our entire being, we tend to loose what we have already and become empty vessels. The race to wealth and the pleasures of life isn’t for the swift but for those who satisfies themselves with the Bone of Patience.

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Contentment means,

:the quality or state of being contented

:feeling or showing satisfaction with one’s possessions, status or situations.

In Layman’s terms, Contentment means being extremely satisfied with what you have. A feeling of peace and tranquility pertaining to what you own and your level of comfort.

An Imagery?

Okay. Today is Saturday. Everybody else is eating Rice and stew but I have just bread and butter. Contentment comes with acceptance and then appreciation/grateful heart and then peace. I have bread and butter. I am going to enjoy myself on this fine Saturday morning with my bread and butter. I am grateful that I have my bread and butter to eat. Some people struggle to eat, but I have my bread and butter to eat.

The above is contentment. One of the steps to success is Contentment. When you choose to castigate what you own instead of being grateful, then you are two steps ahead to failure.

After Content comes hard-work and then Harvest.

It is good to want the finer things in life, it is good for us to Chase our dreams and fantasies, but as we do it, we shouldn’t be blinded by our desires and then, land on a cliff.

“The secret of contentment is the realization that life is a gift, not our right” A simple message that says a lot.

An exercise?

Write down the things you hope to have and the things you have already and then start appreciating them one by one. Notice that you’ll start to feel the level of Contentment.

Like this.👇🏽

Thanks for tuning in to my blog! I hope it teaches you a lot.

Love, Koco❤️
